Yin and Yang Cupping

Traditionally in East Asian Medicine techniques, cupping has been performed with a ceramic or glass instrument.  This has facilitated a strong approach to treatment and has been used for the millenia to remove congested Qi and Blood from deep inside the body. The ancients have repeatedly agreed that nothing moves Qi and Blood stasis like cupping.  In recent decades, as early as the 1950s the Chinese and Russian medical communities and created a huge body of research on cupping therapy.  From there, the Chinese developed plastic cups, and the Russians developed flexible rubber and then later silicone cups. Since that time, cupping has taken on a completely different set of uses in injury repair, myofascial treatment, collagen repair, cosmetic, scar, lymphatic and other purposes. Many of these treatment approches work beautifully with light treatment and flexible cups.

Yin cupping looks at the softer side of cupping.  Releasing congestion gently in tender or superficial areas such as the abdomen, diaphragm, face, and scars. Applying the cups to the channels while mobilizing the channel and mobilizing the cup takes manual therapy to a new level.  The lightest suction can reveal subtle congestion and just a short time and the lightest suction can garner amazing results.
