Cupping the DU Mai
Problems in the spine, spinal cord and nervous system are often serious, painful and degenerative. Often they also involve the brain.
Some examples of conditions of the spine are scoliosis, stenosis, disc herneations and bulges, degenerative disc disease, spinal myelitis, kyphosis, lordosis and more
Degenerative condtions involving the sspinal cord include Polio, Spina Bifida, Parkinson's disease, Multiple Sclerosis, dimensia, auto-immune conditions, osteoarthritis,
These conditions can be developmental or they can be caused by trauma such as a motor vehicle accident, sports injuries, industrial accidents or assualt.
It is important to understand the condition before engaging in any invasive treatment so that the risk of harm is eliminated.
Gentle hold and release spinal cupping can help with most of these conditions, but an assessment should be completed to determine if the treatment is indicated.
**note** vertebral disc herneation or any other acute inflammation on the spine should be avoided. The tissues surrounding the injury can be treated with caution, however consideration for the nature of the injury should be applied. For example, if there is a disc rupture or herneation in the lumbar spine, a practitioner may want to consider whether the supporting muscle tightness is actually supporting the injury from becoming more severe.
