Cupping the Dai Mai

The Dai Mai, or girdle vessel has a big responsibility in the body to help stabilize the core, contain the muscles and organs, and assist in communication between the upper and lower body.  Even though the Dai Mai channel runs through the core of the body, and anatomically has a similar path and function to the oblique muscles, the acupuncture points that we use to balance this extraordinary meridian are TW 5 and GB 41 - on the hand and foot.

When performing channel treatment like meridian work and shiatsu we tend to work directly on the the Dai Mai, and so we can also do the same with cupping.

This video demonstrates a treaetment of the Dai Mai for lower back tension
