Yang Deficient/Cold Bi Syndromes
With Yang Deficient and Cold Bi syndromes, cupping can help by improving circulation and thereby generating heat. Using a warm oil, and warming the cups or adding a heat lamp can be helpful.
Frozen shoulder: A common injury in women at the end of menopause, this painful and long lasting injury can benefit from dynamic cupping with warming oil. The cups will help increase mobility in the shoulder (see SI mer video) and the warming does just that.
arthritic/joint pain: joint pain is often associated with cold conditions. The painful area should be palpated, to assess the temperature locally. Moving cups is a good idea with cold conditions because the act of movement generates heat and circulation in the area. This usually produces immediate relief.
Yang Deficient Weakness, less cold patients can still benefit from cupping. Moving or sometimes flash cupping can help to stimulate the body as well. It is important to not over treat these patients.
